The other night I was visited by my ancestors in a dream. They spoke with voices that felt like the gentle touch of the earth, urging me to guide others in preparing for the times ahead. It was a call to arms, not of conflict, but of preparation and resilience.
As a beacon in these turbulent times, I’ve dedicated myself to the art of readiness. My journey has been one of deep commitment.
Becoming a certified emergency response team member, weaving the fabric of our community tighter by preparing my city for any disaster that may knock on our doors.
I’ve learned and taught the sacred act of growing food and turning empty lots into food forests. I know that even in the darkest times, we can nurture life and sustain our spirits.
This path has not just been about survival, but about thriving. It’s about reconnecting with the earth, understanding its rhythms, and learning to dance in harmony with its cycles.
It’s about remembering the wisdom of those who walked before us, those who knew how to listen to the whispers of the wind and the stories of the stars.
Now, I extend this invitation to you — leaders, changemakers, activists, and creatives. In a world that feels increasingly uncertain, your vision, your passion, and your commitment to your community is the lodestar that will guide us through.

I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
