🖥️ This Thursday, a Free 1-hour gathering for those navigating rupture, remembrance, and rhythm

Beautiful Wildlings,
We know burnout can come from pushing too hard for too long.
From systems that extract your energy but never replenish your well.
From the pressure to produce, perform, survive.
Survival mode is real.
And it matters.
But here’s something I’ve been hearing — and feeling — too:
Some of our burnout may also be ancestral.
-
Grief for what was severed
-
Grief for ancestors who were harmed
-
Grief for ancestors who caused harm
-
Grief for the rupture we were never meant to carry alone
This isn’t a different kind of burnout — it’s another thread inside it.
A quieter one.
But just as sacred.
Some of us carry lineages of colonization, erasure, and domination.
Some of us carry the ache of being disconnected from land, culture, and kin.
Many of us carry both.
That grief is not weakness.
It’s wisdom waiting to be tended.
That’s why this Thursday I’m hosting a 1-hour remembering:
Ancestral Ways for Precarious Times
A free 1-hour gathering for those navigating liminality, loss, and longing
Is that something that would be meaningful for you right now? If so…
→ Register for the Zoom here
Together we’ll explore:
-
Why ancestral rupture might be part of what’s weighing us down
-
How to listen to what our body is already holding
-
Three gentle practices to reconnect — breath, ritual, and story
-
A guided invitation to root into the unseen and breathe with our well ancestors
We don’t need to know our full lineage.
We don’t need to reconcile the irreconcilable.
We just need a moment to listen — and an openness to begin working with our well ancestors.
Thursday, April 10th, Live session + 24-hour free replay
Option to purchase lifetime replay + guidebook for $12
This isn’t about replacing one story with another.
It’s about making room for more truth — and more tenderness.
At the end of the workshop, I’ll share a no-pressure invitation into
Ancestral Wayfinding — a 4-week rhythm restoration container
for those who feel the call to root deeper.
This ritual container is guided by the lineage repair framework I’m studying in Daniel Foor’s Ancestral Healing Practitioner Training, and it’s the essential first step for entering 1:1 Ancestral Healing work with me beginning in June.
I’ve spent decades listening to Time, tending to grief, and walking with ancestors — my own and those of the land. I’ve led collective rituals in public squares, guided ceremony across borders, and mentored visionaries who are decolonizing their presence.
I didn’t learn these practices in a textbook. I lived them — through exile, re-matriation, chronic illness, neuroqueering, and ancestral reckoning. This isn’t theory. This is my body’s knowing. And I offer it to you with care and conviction.
This may or may not be for you. I trust your timing either way.
Stay wild, love fiercely. Your presence is golden.
Ciao! xo Ixchel
P.S. If something in this email stirred you, I’d love to have you with us.
Ancestral Ways for Precarious Times is free to attend live, this Thursday, with a 24-hour replay. If you want to keep weaving the thread, the $12 replay + guidebook will be available after. You can sign up here: → Register now

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
P.P.S. I do not live or consent to the colonial impositions regarding the construct of Time. I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care. This means I may take several days to respond to your requests and questions. (h/t Eva Glamaris)
