Avocado season is ending soon. ????We get the majority of our avocados from the Mondo Avocado brothers that sell outside La Colonia.
Last year when we visited Nicaragua, I would ask for avocado on my dishes at restaurants and there was never any. Eventually someone explained they weren’t in season.
Tragic, really, that even the avocado has a season in the tropics. To cycle my good fats, I’m preparing to go back to coconut oil in my daily #alkagizer and looking for other good fats to substitute. Any ideas?

As I write this, a cacophony of noise-makers — the noon fireworks — are exploding all over Matagalpa as revelers take to the streets shouting their joy for the Virgin Mary. It’s La Purísima in Nicaragua, the celebration of her pure conception.
The joy of being a noise-maker, a silence breaker hit my body like a thunderclap this morning. I felt the overwhelming joy of connection with my sisters throughout the world during my morning stretches. It felt like a network of lights connected throughout the world. Lights that had been separate and alone in the dark, were finally linked together in a web of shared experience, #MeToo shining brightly all over the world.
Some of us were noise-makers all along, but separated by this powerful structure that gave us raised eyebrows and warned us not to shout too loud. But the time is now. We shout with anger, sadness, grief, enough is enough, and gratitude. Gratitude we are no longer alone in our shouting, we are loud and proud and I am filled with joy!
The revelers will move the streets going home to home shouting, “Quien causa tanta alegria?” (Who causes so much joy?) And in my heart I will answer, “We women of the world!” ????????❤️

2 Cups Kale (chopped)
2-3 Frozen Bananas
2 Cups Coconut Water
1 1/2 Cups Frozen Pineapple (chopped)
1 Pink Pearl Apple (chopped, any apple will do)
1 Pear (chopped)
