You don’t have to “get back” to your flow — you can meet it right where you are.
Hola! I’m Ixchel Lunar (they/them), an Indigenous time ecologist, ancestral medicine guide, and rhythm witch for creative rebels, decolonial dreamers, and neuroqueer visionaries. This Substack is dedicated to weaving business, body, and belonging into something no empire can replicate. Still punk as fuck. Still cozy in the chaos.
The next Dragon Letters is gestating. Until then, we will be revisiting my work and offerings in a 5-email series called Reframes. Enjoy!
Beautiful Wildlings,
We’ve spent the last five emails loosening empire’s grip on your relationship with Time, step by step, re-membering what was always yours.
But before we close the circle, there’s one more reframe I want to offer you… a bonus, because it belongs in your toolkit for every season:
Your body is a compass.
For me, this began when my body flat-out refused to keep pace with the deadlines and metrics I had been taught to measure my worth by. Chronic illness, neurodivergence, and the grind of trying to stay employed in an ageist, beauty-obsessed job market (where the roles went to younger, thinner women) pushed me to the edge.
So I left the grind for what I thought would be a sabbatical… which turned into years of exile. In 2018, I was in Nicaragua as the dictatorship unfolded. Our streets were barricaded, and neighbors were “disappeared.” Then came the pandemic and long Covid.
I remember one afternoon, the heat was so heavy it blurred my vision. As my head was pounding from a hot flash, I sat under the shade of a ceiba tree, my chest rising in rhythm with the hum of cicadas. In that stillness, I felt the land’s tempo, the pull of the moon, the old cadence of my own breath. I realized my body wasn’t “broken” for not keeping up. It was tuned to a deeper beat.
That moment became a compass point. And it’s what I now guide others to reclaim.
The Old Story
You’ve been told your body is unreliable. That you can’t trust its timing, its signals, its needs… especially if they don’t match the “normal” set by colonial clocks, corporate calendars, and productivity culture.
This story says you have to “get back” to your flow, like it’s something you lost, and that you must earn your return through discipline, purity, or perfect health.
The Truth
Your flow never left. Your body has been here all along, marking the way.
You can meet it exactly where you are in the ache of your muscles, the pace of your breath, the depth of your sigh. Your body already keeps Time with the moon, with the light, with the turn of the seasons. Even in illness, even in overwhelm, even in uncertainty, your body’s rhythms are speaking.
When you learn to listen, every sensation becomes orientation.
The Work We Do Together
That’s the heart of Wild Presence Collective — not forcing your rhythm to match an external demand, but learning to navigate by your own compass.
I help people break free from empire’s clock and return to the rhythms that make life whole. And while ancestral healing is an optional practice in the Collective, every member is supported in weaving their body’s wisdom with the cycles of land, sky, and community.
I’ve watched clients drop the shame of “inconsistency” and design their lives around the cadences their bodies have been whispering for years.
Try It Right Now
Notice what happens when you check in with your body before committing to something.
When you give yourself permission to rest without “earning” it.
When you let hunger, fatigue, or longing be valid reasons to change your plans.
That’s your body, your energetics, guiding the way.
Wild Presence Collective is where you practice trusting that compass in community. We weave body, land, and, if you choose, ancestral rhythms into a living, breathing spiral of practice, so you’re not navigating alone.
Doors close in less than 12 hours.
If you’ve been feeling the pull, that quiet yes in your body, this is your moment to trust it. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Your body already knows the way. Let’s walk it together.

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
P.P.S. I do not live or consent to the colonial impositions regarding the construct of Time. I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care. This means I may take several days to respond to your requests and questions. (h/t Eva Glamaris)
