Hola Wildlings!
Wow! #42! Did you know 42 is a significant number, beyond just the meaning of life for Hitchhiker’s fans? This Wikipedia page has many fascinating references.
One new series I’m enjoying is Decolonizing Wellness on YouTube from an Indigenous couple. Episode 2 is about Digital Detox, one of my core activities in the Radical Rest Handbook (this plus my Boundless Vision Planner are part of the Decolonizing Time book in process).
As I wintered between Solstice and the Gregorian New Year, I did some surveying of my body of work and re-organized my book outline based on four models: initiatory events (my indigenous auto-ethnographic cosmovision work), passions (Steven Kotler), wisdom (Megan Hale) and methodology (Kelly Diels) mapping. What I discovered is that I’ve already written 3/5 of the book in one form or another!
I’m so grateful for the research fund donations and resources provided after I posted on IG in a fit of frustration about how difficult it can be to do academic research outside of academia. I’ve been able to join an academic paper membership site and purchase a few of the core methodology and research books as well.
In 2002 I was accepted to a doctoral program at CIIS. I curated a dream team of mentors to sit on my thesis committee, including Joanna Macy who I’d studied with in my graduate work, and had the privilege of helping build her first website back at the turn of the millennia.
As life goes, my abuelita entered end-stage liver failure from Hep C and had decided not to pursue harsh treatment at 82. And so I paused beginning my PhD work and became my abuelita’s death doula, delving into The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
There was much written during that transition too. Most was via email to a friend that held space for me. I’m still trying to figure out how to de-encrypt an old Microsoft Entourage file to extract those writings. 😰
On her death bed, my grandma made me promise I would complete my doctorate (she was competing against her sister who had two amazing academic kids, a big deal for Latin families). However I did not return to it after her passing from the grief and loss of my primary co-regulator. My hope is that some day I’ll receive an honorary doctorate to fulfill my promise to her.
But the idea of going back is a curious one, mostly because I want library access to finish my book research. 💀💀💀 But I see no good reason to go further into student loan debt to make good. Rather, finishing this book and getting it out into the world is a far better focus and negotiation of my commitment to my ancestors.
Urgency is a fraught state of being. While I don’t adhere to white supremacy culture’s sense of urgency for the powers that be, letting the urgency of decolonizing Time be my motivator has been such fuel for the fire in my belly.
The medicine I’ve been working with since Solstice has been deep. I had a dream that I visited a curandero (a MesoAmerican healer, akin to a shaman) at a rocky clearing in pine forest. A circle had gathered, at the center a fire ceremony. As the curandero had me approach the center, a swarm of white moths flew into the back of my head and into my ears. I kneeled over in prayer as they kissed the back of my head over and over. When I stood, the curandero said I had many ancestors that want to work with me and we laughed. Their urgency is my reminder of my deep why.
Stay wild, love fiercely. Your presence is golden.

Next Wild Presence Collective Cohort is Emerging…
Time management is dominator culture in a nutshell.
Reclaiming Time is about your relationship with Time, Space, Place (the ground under your feet, and the world you are in), and your People.
As long as we think about Time as something to manage, dominate and control we will perpetuate the theft, division, commodification, and outsourcing of Time.
As long as we are chasing ruthless systems of brutal productivity, we’re still living within the capitalist framework that links happiness with productivity.
➡️ Our dopamine will be perpetually hijacked.
When we stop worrying about productivity to solve our Time scarcity — and focus instead on centering Rest, Joy and Flow — we discover the gold in our Wild Presence.
➡️ We cannot hack our way to feeling Joy or Ease in our body.
It all comes down to your relationships. Decolonize Time to tend and mend your relationships with Time, Space, Place and Cosmos.
This is how we step out of dominator culture and onto dry land, so we can dream in new ways of being (not doing).

Just a reminder, I don’t plan on doing full marketing outreach for a new cohort until Spring 2023 when I will raise the price to $500/mo or $6k pay-in-full (it’s currently $300/mo or $3600).
There are just 2 spots left for the Collective with 1:1 coaching tier included for $625/mo or $7500 pay-in-full (this intensive tier will increase to $13k Spring 2023).

“Ixchel is a gift for our time. Our work together transitioned me from a path of should-ing and burn out to tuning into my deepest call and making space for it.
The principles of flow Ixchel teaches are magical, rebellious and life changing. Their presence alone had a way of bringing me into deeper alignment with myself every time we met.
For anyone called to unhook from old systems and bring forth work from a deeper place within, Ixchel is a pioneer, an inspiration and incredible guide.
Ixchel’s work is world changing, one human being reoriented towards time…at a time. They are a powerhouse of wisdom, depth and knowledge and I felt so seen, informed and cared for in our session.
The way we’re doing things is not working and Ixchel is showing us a new way. I left our sessions feeling inspired, resourced and ready to be part of the change.”
— CARA JONES, UNTETHER YOUR VOICE

“Every session with Ixchel left my nervous system calm and peaceful in a full, embodied way. No matter what topic we were discussing, their ability to co-regulate without (apparent) effort, but just by being, filled me with ease and freedom.
Just being in a container with Ixchel is enough, THEN receiving their wisdom about Time, healing, breath, Flow, human design, and all things down-regulating is simply magic.
We completed by celebrating some shifts in my path since we’d begun, and we got to talking about integrity and purpose-as-essence in a really wholing and exciting way; even up to the last few minutes, we were making mind-expanding connections!
Thank you, Ixchel, for your energy and your beingness. So empowering (in such a parasympathetic way) to work with you.

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
P.P.S. I do not live or consent to the colonial impositions regarding the construct of Time. I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care. This means I may take several days to respond to your requests and questions. (h/t Eva Glamaris)
