Caption: What a difference a year makes! Last year at this time, we were getting two 5-gallon buckets of water delivered for over six weeks, until we decided to relocate to this chanting botanical garden. That’s what happens when a community well in the highland jungles of Nicaragua runs dry. Water is precious. #waterislife ????
Today we got our first water truck delivery to refill our rainwater tanks at the bee sanctuary. We are lucky to get a trickle of water once a week when the aqueduct flows. We are one of the neighborhoods that gets cut off from aqueduct water, which we rely on once the rainwater stops. ????
It’s dry season now, only a few rainshowers in the last month. A reminder of how grateful we are to have regular running water. ????
Of course, we take solar showers which feed our grey water system. A bath isn’t a really something I do. But they do look luxurious and relaxing. ????
But our solar-heated showers feed our grey water system. To learn how you can have a #rainbowfood life and #growyourgreensmoothie take our #permaculture course. Link in bio????????
