Metallic green bee! ????
This bee was a bit upset after I removed a large lemon grass plant taking over the herb garden. I think there may have been an in-ground nest. I discovered some interesting larvae when I was planting new herbs. May have been bee larvae. But I did not see other usual signs like food stores for baby bees. Hard to know. Beautiful bee though! ????

I took this photo at the most wonderful casita out a near impassable muddy road north east of Matagalpa. The home had an improved kitchen (cocina mejorada) that the owners were very happy to show us. The building was made of mud and wattle. And the wood window had such character. There is such a warmth that comes from natural spaces like this. * * *
