As an empath that embodies memory in my surroundings, I see how I needed to move away from places that caused pain when I was younger.
.
In the same way that couples can share neural pathways, and so when one dies the other loses memories, I realized my connection with my surroundings is so deep that when I visit places of old the memories return.
.
When I owned a car I enjoyed taking a long drive, going for hikes to clear my head. Having spent most of my time at home over the last six months, the moments away were incredibly insightful.
.
Having that freedom to get in and drive is something I really miss — as well as feeling safe enough to walk alone as women. That luxury flew a few months ago as women are regularly mugged and groped on lonely roads. Many walk together.
.
Whether we would find a similar quality of life elsewhere is uncertain. I don’t think I would trade greater personal freedom for a decline in environment. The land here, the wildlife, the access to good, clean food, are excellent. But maybe I haven’t traveled enough.
.
The travel to nearby countries, visits to see peeps back in the US does help the stir crazy feelings. I guess that’s the blessing of a 90-day visa.
.
Definitely need to complete my Desire Map circumambulating this weekend with the last workbook on Goals with Soul to really get clear on what my promises to myself will be in 2019.
.

This beautiful face emerged out mud and root, familiar. Her eyes open and pierce into me. Oh! I am looking back at myself. I bolted upright in bed, laughing.

Have you ever practiced lucid dreaming? As a child I would dream my day before I awoke. It was a survival mechanism that gave me confidence that I was safe. Later I turned it into a lucid practice, traveling the Astral plane, a wandering explorer flying through the universe.
.
I am so grateful to the many artists able to share what they see in visual representation. Having the experience of synesthesia through art can really help one have a unitive transformation. When I see art that shows others what rainbow Light we hold, I am elated.
.
Being one with universe, embedded in Pachamama has profoundly shaped my devotion. My inner exploration, the sartorial and kensho renewals are my gift to the Great Mother, to help empower and heal this precious planet.
.
This gift is my practice to help others prepare or process their sacred plant medicine experience, providing a safe space for you to be reborn and renewed. If you are called to this medicine, please understand that it requires reverence and preparation to have the most transformative effect.
.
If you feel incomplete from having worked with the medicine, it may help to receive healing. The transformation may be held up.
.
Being alive in this time, when access to this medicine has opened up is no small coincidence. The planetary shift is happening. The old patriarchal ways are crumbling. I am grateful to witness so many people awakening to their rainbow light as they let go of what no longer serves them, aligning with their hearts in service to healing the planet.

For retailers the holiday season can be the most rewarding or most stressful time of the year. Add in making it onto Oprah’s Favorite Things list and it becomes the year you get shot out of a canon.
.
In 1999 I was the second EA to Wally Arnold, CEO and Founder of Illuminations, the candle manufacturer. As Illuminations was growing he wanted to maintain his personal touch and voice in all communications. What an opportunity! I got schooled in his style and approach.
.
Coming off the Austin Powers summer blockbuster, I became known at HQ as Mini-Wally, his ghostwriter. Given my petite stature, I guess it was apropos.
.
That fall was monumental for the company. We got word that our Ritual Candles would be featured on Oprah’s big day, her most watched episode of the year. But let’s drop the pretense. It was a shit storm.
.
The giddy excitement of the day is akin to being the one that gets to open the front doors of WalMart on Black Friday. Within moments our servers crashed within hours we had sold out of much of the holiday product.
.
It was a lesson in humble vulnerability. A client hellbent on their gift purchase is not something to trifle with. That it was Oprah’s audience and it was the Art of Candlelight didn’t make much difference.
.
Wally’s genius approach was to completely acknowledge the situation with our clients. We bowed to Oprah’s spotlight and with sincerity asked how we could help make it right with our clients when we failed to meet their expectations. Every failed moment became an opportunity to transform their lives in a positive interaction.
.
For days I became a concierge for the toughest clients, the ones that were escalated all the way to the CEOs office. With bloodhound awareness I would seek out replacements through the network of stores, even digging through the warehouse to find the last item, and ship it in time for Christmas.
.
We transmuted the stress of materialistic desire for the peace that candlelight offers by owning our shortcomings. Staying authentic in our imperfections, acknowledging them with humility and gratitude might be good practice for this time, remembering why we celebrate Light in the darkest months of the year.

At our winter solstice wedding, at the time when it was darkest in the cycle, we lit a candle. And from that Light, we shared it with all our family and friends until everyone was Lit.
