Hola! I’m Ixchel Lunar (they/them), an Indigenous-Time ecologist, ancestral medicine guide, and rhythm witch for creative rebels, decolonial dreamers, and neuroqueer visionaries. This Substack is dedicated to weaving business, body, and belonging into something no empire can replicate. Still punk as fuck. Still cozy in the chaos.

Happy 2026, Beautiful Wildling! 🥳
I want to pause before we rush toward what comes next.
The year threshold we just crossed was not gentle. 2025 asked for endurance in ways that did not resolve quickly, if at all for many of us. It stretched so many across long seasons of uncertainty, responsibility, and quiet grief. The kind that does not come with language or ceremony. The kind that settles into the body when systems fray slowly and support thins out over time.
I remain open to the possibility that Love will pour in for us.
I felt that year deeply. In how carefully I had to pace myself. How much listening did it take to stay oriented? In the way Time itself felt heavier and more intimate, asking for attention rather than efficiency. It was a year that revealed the cost of pushing through.
Standing here at the threshold of 2026, I feel both the weight of what has been carried and the presence of what is possible. Not possibility as optimism, but as capacity. The capacity to move differently. To work, create, and care in ways that do not require overriding the body to continue.
This moment does not ask us to hurry. It asks us to orient. To notice what the last year taught us about limits, rhythm, and what we can no longer afford to sacrifice.
I want to name something I see often in people who find their way to my work.
Many of us were taught that when we feel overwhelmed, the answer is to try harder, get clearer, or find the right system. That belief has roots. It comes from cultures that reward endurance, speed, and self-override, even in spaces that speak the language of care.
When the body is asking for rhythm, more effort does not help. It increases strain.
I have been sitting with this after the recent Ancestral Ways for Precarious Times workshop, and after years of guiding people through rhythm repair in public squares, across borders, through exile and re-matriation, chronic illness, collapse, and creative rebuilding.
Many people expressed interest in the Wild Presence work during the offering period and, at the same time, named a need for slower pacing, private support, and mentorship tailored to their real lives.
My work grew from that lived experience. It came from learning how to stay human inside systems that do not support bodies.
What I have learned is steady and consistent.People do not need more strategies. They need a rhythm that can hold real response-ability.
That is why I opened a private 1:1 mentorship called Queering Rhythm.
Queering Rhythm is grounded in queer and decolonial ways of working with Time.
Pssst… You don’t need to be queer to do queering work.
Queering, in this context, means loosening inherited norms around urgency, worth, productivity, and capacity so life and work can move with more honesty and care.
This offering is for people who:
-
do not want to carry growth in public or in groups
-
hold care, leadership, creativity, or survival at the same time
-
want to work with Time, the body, and capacity as living relationships
Queering Rhythm is offered as four private 1:1 sessions, scheduled at your own pace, with flexible voice support between sessions. I have 5 spots available for January.
The work supports releasing urgency, tending life force, and building meaningful work without sacrificing your body to colonial Time.

Stay wild, love fiercely. Your presence is golden.
With wild and rebellious love,
Maltiox! xo Ixchel
P.S. Queering Rhythm exists because grind culture keeps asking bodies to comply. This work does not. Four private 1:1 sessions. Your pace. Real life included. We return to a rhythm that protects the soul empire tried to erase.
P.P.S. Maltiox pronounced mall-tee-osh means with gratitude in K’iche Mayan.

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
P.P.S. I do not live or consent to the colonial impositions regarding the construct of Time. I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care. This means I may take several days to respond to your requests and questions. (h/t Eva Glamaris)
