I was recently chatting with my youngest in Philadelphia about the massive protests for Ceasefire in Palestine happening around the world. I was curious if they were seeing the news in the United States. They said they marched in Philly with tens of thousands and NOT ONE new van or camera crew was there. Just a lone drone of a protester. Usually there would be several crews and helicopters to show the demonstrations.
WAKE UP! The media is colluding to keep people in the United States in the dark about how the world is against this and many other brutal genocides. I’ll include some TikToks below of what people are doing to get the word out.
Please call your congress and senate members to share your outrage.
✨ Black Week Special ✨
Below my letter you’ll hear about the Star Powered 2024 Panel I’ll be speaking at next week where I’ll share about the major Jupiter and Uranus conjunction happening in April.
If you’d like to learn more about what’s in store for you in 2024 in your personal astrology, I’m offering a $111 off my ✨ Astro/HD Readings ✨.
In our preplanning session for the Star Powered 2024 Panel, Leslie Tagorda captured my remarks to the other panelists about my cosmological focus,
“I do have an archetypal astrology background, but I’m really exploring decolonial and relational astrology to help people to be able to connect with the planets in their journey of decolonizing Time.”
I’ve adjusted how I’m offering these readings in combination with 1:1 astrological mentorship and teachings after the reading, but I’m also offering an option of just the 2hr reading without all the extras. Use coupon 111OFF until Monday.

When I was on city council I was constantly striving for darker skies. You don’t realize how much you’re missing until you go somewhere with rich dark night skies.
In this Dragon Letter I’ll be sharing ways for you connect with the celestial beings through astrology and Human Design. But, always encouraging people to make direct connections, the night sky is one way we can co-regulate and connect with the cosmos we are moving through.
In keeping with the decolonial theme, I loved reading how the colonizer Magellan is going to lose his place in the sky.
In the recent Befriending Time Quest I shared my best protocol for sleep hygiene. Much has to do with reducing blue light in the home.
One thing I don’t miss about our neighborhood in Oaxaca was the very blue light LED street lights. Adding blackout curtains made a huge difference in my nervous system when I hung them.
This letter to the editor of The Guardian talks about how harmful this new blue light is for our outside kin too.

Last week I paused from course production and spent the first part of the day wandering our new city. Since the Nicaraguan uprising and long covid stay-at-home recovery, I’ve probably only ventured into the world a dozen times in the last 4 years.
Thanks to low-dose Naltrexone and living in close proximity to the city, that’s changing. Venturing feels good. #wearamask
When we hopped in the taxi I commented that I wanted to find a dry brush for my hairless Xolo pup. She does not like bathing with a loofa, but needs exfoliation for her skin or it gets itchy. I totally get it because I have ichthyosis and must exfoliate regularly.
The first stop was to get coffee. When we hopped out of the taxi there was a store called Pitaya which reminded me of the one in Oaxaca I loved so much. It had many handmade items in the window that drew me in, but I ended up finding a great dry brush, lavender soap (I was almost out) and a hand-carved wooden spoon.
We ended up going to a bazaar where I found the cutest pennant banners made from recycled fabrics and tassels. Don’t they look so festive hanging on the beams in the salon (living room)?!

Dulce Latido (Sweet Beat) is becoming my favorite spot. The first time I went there I found Pinole corn to make a delicious corn beverage recommended for my bones by my Tata Jericho, a Mayan ajqi (like a shaman healer but different) teaching me about cacao. In the Popol Wuj (Mayan origin story) White corn made human bones and teeth, so he recommended I drink this to support my bones until I can visit the ajqi bone doctor in Chichicastenango next February.
They also have herbs grown and dried by the locals. I found wormwood, which I had been looking for to make more tincture.
They have many vegan and gluten-free options, so it was a great place for my vegan partner and I (celiac and dairy-free) to eat. We haven’t been able to get out much together in Oaxaca because we lived so far from the city. Going by taxi from where we lived was 2 hours round trip. And with a young pup, we don’t want to be away for too long.
Here we’re just 10 minutes from Centro, so there will be many opportunities to eat our way through San Cristóbal de las Casas.
We topped off brunch with vegan, GF cheesecake with berry topping. I have craved a vegan cheesecake since our trip to Sedona, Arizona in 2015. I could feel my dopamine reserves increase.
My Oura ring has a new stress monitor. All week during the Quest, I was getting notified about being under high stress. And due to low dopamine, there wasn’t a lot of moments for restoring because I had created a dopamine pressure cooker. That brunch put the gauge into “restored” which I could feel as it was happening. I love biofeedback, and tools like this really help me confirm what I’m feeling in my body. What would be really helpful is if the app had a notification to alert me when I’m under stress so I can become more aware of how I’m feeling before it becomes critical.
But I did really feel the overstimulation when we were out and that helped me not overstay.
I moved to San Cristóbal de las Casas in part to connect with the Zapatistas to learn about their work for my forthcoming book on Decolonizing Time. I recently listened to Charlotte Saenz talk about what she calls Seed (Semilla) pedagogics is taught in their schools an lived in their rural communities. She mentioned Sendas in her talk about the recent Zapatista communiques and changes to the movement.
Yesterday we visited Sendas, a local cafe, mercado and community center and discovered these beautiful murals (above and below) at the entrance. I am looking forward to returning.

✨What higher consciousness and wisdom will be initiated in 2024?✨
2024 is almost here and there has never been a time to come together in collective leadership (Thank you North Node and Chiron meeting up in Aries).
To honor this energy, I’m coming together with 5 other astrologers, brought together by my friend and fellow brand astrologer, Leslie Tagorda, to discuss all the shifts and stories opening up in 2024’s astrology.
It’s such an honor to sit with these 5 other remarkable astrologers from different backgrounds to share and spark inspired action that makes the world a more fair and just place – think:
⭐️ “Wounded” leadership ⭐ ️ where we need diverse leaders who normally wouldn’t see themselves as such come forward to lead collectively.
⭐️ Social equity ⭐ ️ where we need to amplify and protect the values and movements of underrepresented and underestimated communities to build socio-economic power beyond politics.
⭐️ Environmental justice ⭐️ where we need to lift the voices of Water and Earth protectors, especially Indigenous voices, to reclaim, restore, and regenerate our Mother Earth 🌍 – the most important planet in astrology.

An Astrology Panel discussing Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Social Justice and Politics.

A big theme next year is about collective leadership. How Chiron the Wounded Healer shows us how to weave our deepest challenges into change-making Work. And the North Node represents our collective potential. In Aries, a new opening to a new cycle of collective leadership, where underrepresented and underestimated leaders who have been dismissed or overlooked bring awareness to those challenges and overcome them.
In 2024, this energy urges us to come together to co-create, and collaborate, each of us knowing our individual contribution.
A new movement and consciousness of leadership is awakening in 2024 and it starts with you, Beautiful Wildlings.
Together we will unfold the energies that we’re meant to call in and the energies that we are meant to dismantle.
This is a call to you. Are you open to see the higher consciousness and wisdom will be initiated in 2024?✨

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
P.P.S. I do not live or consent to the colonial impositions regarding the construct of Time. I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care. This means I may take several days to respond to your requests and questions. (h/t Eva Glamaris)
P.P.S. A mention is not necessarily an endorsement of someone. It’s an acknowledgment, a citation, of the origin of information in my process of understanding. (h/t Kelly Diels)
