As we approach the closing of our January 2024 cohort enrollment tomorrow I wanted to share with you a deeply personal experience – one that underscores the essence of our journey with the Wild Presence Collective.
(This i not fake urgency, I’m going into outreach quiet mode for the Mercury Retrograde until the new year, returning to the regular Dragon Letters style.)
🌙 A Visit from the Ancestors: A few months ago, during my first visit to these ancestral lands, something profound happened. As I slept, the ancestors of this land came to me. It was an intimate moment, one where they inspected my heart and, in their wisdom, welcomed me to live here.
This past Thursday, they returned, but this time,it was different – it was a celebration, a festive gathering filled with joy and acceptance.
They bestowed upon me garlands of cempasuchil (marigolds), symbols of the sunlight, joy and the beauty of life and death. This gesture was more than a welcome; it was an affirmation of my journey to reconnect with my roots and the land that cradles deep ancestral wisdom.
🌿 The Power of Reindigenizing: This experience has been a vivid reminder of the importance of connecting with the land and our ancestors. It’s about reindigenizing our practices, our thoughts, and our very being. In the Wild Presence Collective, starting with the Befriending Time Course, we delve deep into this sacred connection, learning how to foster a more profound connection with the land, integrating the wisdom of the land and its guardians into our lives. 🔥

Your Sanctuary to Cultivate Wild Presence for Thriving with a Planet in Transition
I was raised and bore children on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Coast and Central Valley Miwok (colonized as Petaluma, CA) and Nisenan (colonized as Sacramento and Fair Oaks, CA), past, present, and future. I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.

I also practice honoring rhythms of work, play, and rest so that I can serve you with embodied presence and with loving care.
