Your tears won’t save us. It’s time to return to the work of dismantling systems that harm Black, Indigenous, and underrepresented communities — and build a future where we all thrive.
Black, Indigenous, and other underrepresented communities — including the alphabet mafia, Nonbinary, Two-Spirit, and Trans folks — have been sounding the alarm for years: White women are not only complicit in maintaining systems of oppression, but they often fail to see the bigger picture when it matters most, like yesterday, because of privilege.
This election result is not an isolated event — it’s the product of collective choices rooted in hegemonic white supremacy, cis-heteropatriarchy, and settler colonialism.
And let’s be clear: waaay too many white women have abandoned the hard work of anti-racism and decolonization these past few years, retreating into comfort when the tides of urgency seemed to recede. (We have the receipts of down enrollment to prove it.)

Remember: this work has never been about a single election. It’s about dismantling oppressive systems that harm us all.
Your tears and apologies won’t shield our communities from harm. What we need are your commitments. We need you to step back into the uncomfortable, necessary labor of building collective power and protecting those most at risk.
This means returning to anti-racism work, supporting decolonial efforts, and actively resisting the ideologies in your own lineage that continue to uplift belligerent, transphobic, and violent leaders.
It’s time to re-engage. Show up for the programs and spaces led by underrepresented people. Rebuild trust and solidarity. Use your power and privilege to shift hearts and minds — and to dismantle the MAGA worldview that threatens us all.

I also write, work, and live in the highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Totonac, Nahua, and Mexicah, past, present, and future, in what is known as Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
