Caption: My Grandma Bea taught me to sew. I had heartache not bringing her Bernina with me. It was too heavy to fly. I bought a little machine down here to do hems, like these curtains. I feel close to her when I sew. I’m not good, but I can get the job done. Grateful for the skills. But I wish had done more to teach my daughters home skills. I felt it would limit their horizons, feminize them too much. But now I understand that home skills make us more resilient and self-reliant. #permaculture #skills #sewing #feminism #fashion #homedecor #homeeconomics #homesteading #slowlife #nicaragua
